Project Pinterest Challenge!!

Have you started to make your projects and/or recipes yet?!? Its ok if you haven't. You have PLENTY of time to get them done! Hopefully you have been able to look through your pins to get some ideas though!!!

**If you haven't read about the challenge yet or need a reminder, here it is:

I am sure there are many of you out there like me that go on Pinterest and pin many things that you love and MAY BE someday will make. Well, a few weeks ago while I was browsing Pinterest I had this idea come to me and thought it would be fun to have a contest with these pins! So what I want you to do is go through your pins and find something you pinned and really want to make! It can be food, gifts, home decor, art, etc. Then link up to the contest. I wanted to have a co-host for this so I have asked the cute Chrissy from the Taylor House to be that co-host!

Special Dates in our Family

A few months ago I was browsing Pinterest and came across something that someone had done. They put down all the special dates in their family in number form. This has stuck with me and I really wanted to do this. I got on photoshop and designed all the special dates in our family.

This is what it looks like:

I did my hubby's birthday, my birthday, our wedding date, my little girls birthday, and my little boys birthday.

I love how it turned out!

I went to our local thrift store the other day and found a ton of frames there for cheap! This is going to be a new place for me to go to look for crafts things! I pulled out one of the frames I got there. It was brown and in pretty good shape, but I wanted it to match my special dates and my room.

So I spray painted it black.

After that dried, I put a coat of lacquer over it to shine it up and protect it.

After it dried I made some cute flowers to put on it.
To see how to make the yellow circle flowers go HERE
For the burlap flower:
All I did was cut a strip about 1 inch wide and 12 inches long. Then I just folded it like a fan, but turing as I went to it make a flower. Then I stitched it together in the middle!

Here is what it looks like all put together:
Since I took the picture outside its a little hard to see the white numbers, but inside it is not hard!)

I just LOVE it!!! What do you think??
