Spring Has Sprung Board

Happy Monday!!!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!! I had a wonderful weekend. I got to spend it listening to our prophet, apostles and church leaders in General Conference. I always love this time when I get to listen to them. I felt the spirit so strong and felt a renewed energy to move on with somethings in my life. To learn more about my religion go HERE.

Also the trees and flowers really started blooming!! I LOVE this SPRING time of year! So refreshing!!!
On Friday I became a FREE WOMAN again....as in I now have a car again!!! For almost over a year we have only had one car. We are poor college students so we sold our Audi to my sister and brother in law and have only had one since then. We decided over this last week that with gas prices hiking like they are it would be cheaper in the long run to get a cheap commuter car for Dave to take to work and school. We have a Land Rover Discovery that we absolutely LOVE, but it does not get the best gas milage. We have been spending over $350.00 a month on gas alone for it. Dave has to fill it once a week sometimes two. OUCH!! So it was time. We found a VW Passat for a great deal and gets very good gas mileage! We just couldn't pass up this deal so we bought it!!
I just love it!! Too bad I am not going to be driving it very much! That's ok! I am just happy to be able to go places when I need do without having to call others to drive me around!

Thanks for letting me tell you a little about my weekend!! How about we get to day's Fun craft!!

Isn't it so fun?!? My amazing hubby cut out the birds for me in wood. I Love how they turned out!! Here is a close up of both of them:

I cover both birds with scrapbook paper. I just mod podged it on. I also made the flower from paper and used wire for the stem.

I love how it turned out!!

Pinch On Plaque

I am sure many of your have seen the "Keep Calm" sayings that people have done. There are so many cute things you can do with it. I had to do something for St. Patrick's Day with this.

I found a scrap piece of wood in my garage that is 6"x7". I just wanted something little so this worked out perfect!

This project was so easy that I am not going to go through step by step instructions with pictures. All I did was paint the top of the board green, then stained the whole thing. Then I cut out the saying "Keep Calm and Pinch On" with a little shamrock at the top and stuck it to the board! Very quick and easy!!

Here is what it looks like:

Super Cute for St. Patrick's Day!!

{You Are My Pot of Gold} Board

I hope you all had an AMAZING weekend! I had an awesome one. Friday night my little Kaitlyn and I had a Mommy Daughter night and went and got our nails done! It was so fun! It was her first time getting them done in a Salon.

Then on Saturday I chopped my hair off and put some blond hightlights in it! I LOVE it!!! I was so ready for a change!
**I am so sorry about the quality of my pictures. Something is going on and I am not sure if its blogger or my computer. When I look at them in my picture browser they are fine, but when I upload them they have gone funny. I am not sure why, but my hubby is going to look at it!

That's enough about my weekend. Let's get to todays fun sign!!

I was on Pinterest early last week and saw a cute saying for St. Patrick's Day. It says, "You are my pot of Gold." Someone had done a cute little sign with that on it. I so wanted to make something with this saying, I totally fell in love with it!

So this is what I came up with:

I took a board that I had laying around that is 6"x25 1/2" and sanded all the edges so they were smooth.

I thought it would be fun to paint a rainbow of stipes on it since it goes with St. Patrick's Day so cute! I measured out the stripes and marked where they would be.

Then I took blue masking tape and put it on the marks I had to get a perfect line.

Then I painted-I did 3 stripes at a time, doing every other one.
After these ones dried I put blue tape on again and did the other 3 stripes.

After all the paint dried I sanded around the whole board fixing any mistakes I made with the paint. Then I stained the whole board with  the color Early American.

Next, I cut out the saying "You Are My Pot of Gold" using the font Bosshole found HERE. I cut it out in black vinyl. Then I stuck it on the board.

Super Easy!! Here is what it looks like all done:

I am so excited about how it turned out!! I LOVE IT!!!
