Super Soft {Butterscotch} Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is a cookie recipe that my sister got many years ago. It makes a super soft chocolate chip cookie. I love when cookies are this way! I just had to get the recipe from my Mom. I have made these quite a few times over the last few months. They are delicious!!!

To make these, you will need:
1 C. Shortening
1 C. Brown Sugar
1/2 C. White Sugar
1 Tsp. Soda
2 Tbs. Hot Water
1 Tsp. Vanilla
1 Tsp. Salt
2 Eggs
3 C. Flour
1 Bag Chocolate Chip
OR
(1/2 Bag Chocolate Chips and 1/2 Bag of Butterscotch Chips)
The butterscotch chips are SUPER YUMMY to add in with the chocolate chips. We LOVE it around here! It is totally optional!

How to make it:
Cream shortening and sugars together.
Add eggs and soda, which has been dissolved in water.

Mix together well. Next, add vanilla flavoring, salt and flour.
Mix well.

Lastly, mix in the chocolate and butterscotch chips.

Roll into balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 325 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Just until they are a light golden color.
Let cool on the cookie sheet for a couple of minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack-if you have one. Tin foil will work too!

Then ENJOY!!!

I PROMISE you are going to LOVE these cookies!!!!
