Thirfty {Boo} Banner

I wanted to make a few new things for Halloween this year, but didn't want to spend a lot of money making them. I decided to go see what our local dollar store had. I was actually surprised to find a few things I could make and do with what they had!!

I came across this skeleton banner:
I thought the skeletons were so cute and I knew I could make a cute banner with it.

When I pulled it out there were pretty big spaces between each skeleton.
*Everything else I used to make this I had on hand at home*
{This is only part of the banner...I was in a weird spot and couldn't get the whole thing!}

I thought it would be cute to make triangles to hang between them in the spaces. I wanted to use burlap for these. I cut a triangle on my cricut for a pattern. Then I traced that onto the burlap.
I cut out 3 triangles because I wanted to paint "BOO" on them.

I picked the font I wanted to use and cut those out in vinyl with my cricut. Then I removed the letters and used the silhouette of them for a pattern. I then transferred those to the triangles.

Next, I got out cream craft paint and painted where the letters should be.

I let that dry for about 30 minutes. Then I removed the vinyl.
I love how the letters turned out!

Lastly, I got the skeleton banner out and put each flag in place. I thought for awhile about how I was going to attach them to the jute. Right as I was getting ready for this step I had a thought come to me about using clothespins. I grabbed the ones I had, which were medium sized ones, and attached those to the triangles and jute.

Here is what it looks like all done:

EEK!!! I Love how it turned out!
Like I said before the only thing I bought was the skeleton banner. I had everything else on hand so this only cost me $1.00!! It was also super quick and easy to make!
