Felt Flower Tutorials

These cute felt flowers have been used for so many cute things in the crafting world lately. I recently used them for a wreath. Here are the tutorials to make them:

Rosette Flower:
Tear a strip of fabric 2" wide and 36" long. You can cut it but tearing it gives it a more old fashioned look. Tie a knot at one end of the fabric.

Next, twist the fabric around the knot, putting hot glue every few turns. This keeps the flower in place!

When you get to the end, tuck the end fabric under the flower and hot glue it in place.

The End Result:

Flared Quarter Circle Flower:
Cut out 6 felt circles. I traced a cup to get my pattern.

Next, take one circle and fold it in half. Dab some hot glue in the center of the fold to hold it in place.

Fold it in half again. Put a little hot glue in the bottom center of that fold to hold it in place.

Do this same step with 4 more circles.

Hot glue it in place in the middle of the last circle.

Hot glue 3 more around the circle. It will look like this
Lastly, put a big dab of glue right in the middle and push the last folded circle in.

The Result:

A Bun in the Oven Flower:
(My hubby told me I had to name it that!)
Cut a long strip of felt. About 2"x36". Fold it in half long ways down the whole thing. Then cut small slits down it.

At one end start rolling it. Put dabs of hot glue every few turns to hold it in place.
Apply some hot glue to the end of the fabric to secure it. The bottom of the flower will look almost like a cinnamon roll!

The Result:
(Sorry, I took a picture of it but accidentally erased it so this is of it on the wreath)

Burlap Fan:
I wanted to accent the flowers with something so I made a little fan out of burlap.

First, cut a long strip. I did mine about 2"x13". Then at one end start folding the fabric over itself (it's almost accordion style, but just fan it out a little).

To secure it I took a needle and thread and stitched it at the bottom.
