Star & Stripes Plaque

Happy Monday All!!

I hope you had a FABULOUS weekend!! Today I am continuing on with my 4th of July decor. I have a fun plaque for the upcoming holiday to show you how to make!

Here is the
 STAR & STRIPES PLAQUE:

It is very simple, but looks so pretty to put up in the house!

Here is what you will need to make it:

-Wood Board {11" tall x 11 1/2 wide x 1"thick}
-Wood Star {Found at Michael's}
-Small thing of Red Yarn
-White and Blue Paint
-Brushes
-Ruler
-Pencil
-Hot Glue

First, I painted the board white and the star blue. I did 3 coats of white and blue on each.

After they dried I measured out the board and figured out where I wanted the stripes to be.
Next, I took the yarn and started winding it around the board. I went over the same area twice with the yarn to make sure it was fully covered. I did that 3 times in each section. I chose to do yarn instead of paint to give it more texture.

When I was done with one section I cut the yarn so it was on the back. Then I put a big dab of hot glue to hold it in place.

Here is what it looks like at this point:

Lastly, I put a LOT of hot glue on the back of the blue star and stuck it on the yarn/board...trying really hard to make sure it was centered!!

*I knew where I was going to put this before I made it so I didn't put anything on the back to hang it up with. You can add something to hang it with if you would like. I set mine on my mantle.*

It is SO EASY to put together!! Like I said before- it look so pretty!
