{Quote Board for Bedroom Wall} Phase 2

Yesterday I showed you Phase 1 of my bedroom wall decor. Go HERE if you were not able to see it and would like too!

 Today I have Phase 2 of this wall, which is a Quote Board. I saw this quote on Pinterest and fell in love with it. It says, "A True Love Story Never Ends." I wanted to put that up by the clock on this wall. I was going to do 2 boards, but it was not working out so I ended up just doing the longest board. I hate when things like this happen, but thats why we need to be flexible, right?!? Since I was planning on 2 all of my pictures have 2 in them!

To do this quote board, I got my piece of wood sanded down so there were no rough edges. Then I painted the top of it white.

Then I sanded down around the paint to clean it up. I also sanded over the paint a little bit to make it looked distressed.

Then I stained it with  the color Dark Walnut. I went over the white paint as well to make it look cream.
I let that dry over night.

On the backside, I nailed in 2 V-Hangers so I could hang it up on the wall.
I tried to get a picture of the whole board, but you couldn't see the v-hangers!

Next, I cut out my quote in dark red vinyl on my circut. I used the font KG Skinny Latte found HERE
Then I stuck it on the board.
It looks small, but that's because its almost 4 FEET long!!

Now, here is what it looks like with the decorative wall decor and clock from phase one:
{I promise everything on my wall is straight...unfortunately my hand was not when I took the picture! Sorry!}

I am so excited about how it turned out!!! Finally I am getting some decor in my bedroom!

There just might be a phase 3 to this wall. I am still debating. Stay tuned to see if I choose to add to it!!

  1. Great project Jill. I really like how you "aged" the sign with the stain.
