Hello fans of Two Yellow Birds Decor!!

I am Meegan from What Meegan Makes.

I am excited that Jill has asked me to Guest Post for her Birthday Bash!  Thank you for the honor Jill!

I have been blogging almost 7 months.  I am an ocean loving, furniture and accessory refreshing woman.  I love to find something, then change it up to my taste and flavor.  To see my favorite posts check out my Wreath Frame, Shower Curtain Rug, and My Beach Bench Makeover

Now onto The Birthday Bash Guest Post!!

I made some Botanical Pillows for our TV Room.  I was looking through my Martha Stewart Living Magazine and found these lovelies:
I copied them onto aged typing paper.  I like an aged look, so this paper is perfect.

I used my homemade Mod Podge to attach these botanical copies to 8x10 canvases.  You can see how thick I did the Mod Podge, I wanted it to look aged and a little wrinkled-you know, used :)

I found two 8x10 thrifted frames, and painted them with BHG Teal Lake Semi Gloss paint.

I let them dry, then painted over with an Antique White Craft Paint.  While the paint was still wet, I wiped it with a dry paper towel.  Once all the paint was dry, I used a 100 medium grit sandpaper to rough the edges of the frames.  So far, so good.

To attach the canvas to the frame I used my favorite glue.  I have used this on another frame.  And it works great.  Just be patient and let it dry COMPLETELY.  Otherwise-disaster!  I also used the glue to attach a ribbon loop to the frame.  Again, let it dry completely.

One finished botanical frame.

And, here are both of them along side my mirror and with my botanical pillows!  Just as I had hoped for!!  Yay!  Success!!

I hope you have enjoyed along with me as I made my Botanical Frames.  I also hope you will visit What Meegan Makes on FacebookPinterest and Stumble Upon.

Thanks again, Jill and to all your wonderful fans!  Have a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY BASH!

Make it a great day!

Thank you so much Meegan for your awesome tutorial. Those botanical prints look amazing hung up next to the mirror. I love them!!!
