{Brother Superhero} Plaque

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
We had another scare with our little guy again.
He had a tile fall on his head. I didn't know how much head lacerations bleed. I was in shock for along time with all the blood coming out. I was the only one home with my kids at the time. It was quite an experience for me, but luckily things turned out well in the end. It was a small cut and the doctors said they didn't need to do anything to it! What a relief!
My Cute Little Trooper!!

I want to dedicate this post to him today.
He is such a joy in our family and has so many smiles and hugs for everyone. He loves his big sister and wants to do everything she does.

A few months ago I heard a super cute saying about Brothers. I knew the minute I heard it I needed to make something for my little guy with it.

The quote is:
"Sometimes being a Brother is better than being a Superhero."

It is the sweetest little saying. I am in love with it!! I decided to put the quote on a wood plaque to hang in his room. This project was super easy to put together.

First I got a piece of wood that is 12.5"x11". I sanded the edges to make them smooth and make them more round.

Then I painted the top blue. I did one coat on it and did it kind of sloppy looking. I want it to look old. When that dried I sanded the paint a little bit to clean it up. Then I stained the whole board with the color Golden Oak.

Next, I put a claw hook in on the back so I can hang it up.

Then I designed the quote and cut it out in white vinyl. My hubby worked his magic and made me a Superman "L" logo because our little guy's name is Logan. I then put it all on the board.

Lastly, I put a coat of mod podge over it to protect the vinyl and give the plaque a shiny look.
I let that dry for a few hours.

I LOVE the way it turned out and I am so thankful my hubby suggested the Superman "L". It looks so cute on it!!
