Back to School Breakfast Party

My little Miss started Kindergarten on Monday.
 It just kills me my first born is this old already! Where does the time go?!?

Knowing she was going to be starting big kid school this year
I wanted to start a new fun tradition in our family.

Growing up I remember my Mom always getting up early to have breakfast ready for my siblings and I. Whether it be a warm cooked meal or having different choices of cereal with a slice of banana bread, she always had breakfast ready for us. That is something I want to try and be good at with my kids.

I knew I wanted to make a nice breakfast for my little girls first big day of school.
As I thought about this I then turned my thoughts into doing a
Back To School Themed Breakfast Party!
This way we can have a big celebration the first day of school
to help us all get in the mood!
I have decided I am going to do this every year the first day of school!

I got on Pinterest to get a few ideas and found a super cute
party HERE at Redfly Creations.
I loved some of the decor she had so I made
some of my own decor for my breakfast party.

Here is our
Back To School Breakfast Party
-------------------------

Here is the decor I made before hand for our Party:

- I designed the chalkboard art to put into frames that I spray painted.
{I loved the quote from Winnie the Pooh. We have been talking a lot to my little miss about being Brave her first day of school. She is very scared so this went perfect with our little "theme" with her.}
- I also liked the apples and pencils in the party I saw above so I included those.
- I added the crayons for some color and spunk since my daughter is starting elementary.

Here are some pictures from the day of the Party:

She definitely enjoyed her breakfast party and so did I!!!
I love how everything came together and I loved the food she picked out.
 I can't wait to do it again next year for her and the little mister who will be going to preschool!

Tissue Paper Pom Pom Tutorial

Today I am continuing on with the Birthday Decor I made for my Mom's Surprise Party over the weekend. On Monday I showed you the Cute Birthday Banner I made.

I also made some fun Tissue Paper Pom Poms for the party as well.
Today I have a tutorial for you on how to make them.

Here is what they look like:

These are so easy to make and you only need a few items. I bought mine at the Dollar Store so they were cheap to make too!

What You Will Need:

- Tissue Paper {You will need 8-10 sheets for one pom pom}
-Ribbon
-Scissors

How To Make Them:

Step 1:
First you are going to separate the colors of tissue paper if needed. Then take one color and line the papers up the best you can.

Step 2:
You are going take the papers by the shorter side and fold them together accordion style, like you would fold a fan when you were younger. As I went along doing this I took a pen and slid it down on the folds to help crease them.

Step 3:
Cut some of your ribbon long enough to go tie around the tissue paper and to be able to hang it up.
Then you will tie the ribbon around the middle. Make sure your knot is on the SIDE of the long strip you have made. It will hang better this way...it won't be all lop sided!

Step 4:
Next, you will take your scissors and cut the ends of the tissue paper. You can either cut it to a point or make it rounded. The more dramatic you are in cutting the more flower like it will look. Hope that makes sense!

Step 5:
Now you are going to take your strip and open up each side to make it look like that fan you made when you were little.

Step 6:
Next, you are going to start on one side and really separate each paper being careful not to rip the tissue paper! Each paper that is closest to the ribbon you are going to fold it toward the ribbon working your way to the middle to form the ball.
{In this picture I am working on the right side only!}

When you have one side done, do the other side.

Now you should have a ball formed! If needed you can go around and separate some more if you have any holes. Now you are done!!

These are such a fun way to add flare to your party!
They went perfect with the Birthday Banner I made HERE.

Girly Birthday Banner

Over the weekend my family and I did a surprise Birthday Party for my Mom. It turned out to be a wonderful surprise for her and such a fun party!!

For the party I made a couple different things of decor which I will be showing you throughout the week.
Today I am going to show you how I made a cute Birthday Banner.

Here it is:

This was really fun and easy to make!

What You Will Need:

-Scrapbook Paper {I used 6 different papers. I had 3 of each kind for the circles. I used 5 different patterns for the circles.}
-Cricut or other cutting machine
-Glue Stick
-Foam Tape
-Packaging Tape or Masking Tape
-Scissors
-Jute
-Different Ribbons

How I Made It:
First I got all my cutting done on my Circut. For the circles, I did the big circles at 5 3/4" and the smaller ones at 5". I did 13 of each size. I also cut out the letters "Happy Birthday" using the Simply Sweet Cartridge. I did those at 4".

Next, I took the glue stick and glued the circles together.

Once those were all glued, I put the letters on the circles. I used my foam tape to give the letters some definition.

Here are the circles all finished:

Next, I spaced the circles out evenly to measure how long the jute needed to be.
I did each word on a different jute piece. I then used my packaging tape to
tape the circles to the jute string. I tied the'Birthday' word to the 'Happy' piece of Jute.
I also tied loops in the end of the happy jute string for easy hanging.

Lastly, I took some matching ribbon and tied a few pieces to each end of the Birthday String.

And that's it!! It went together so fast and I LOVE how it turned out!
Definitely fun and cheery for a Birthday Greeting!

Here it is hung at the Surprise Party:

The best part about this banner is it didn't cost me a thing!!!
I had everything on hand to make it with!

I am also excited to have it on hand now for other birthday parties down the road.

Super Father's Day Banner

I know Father's Day was yesterday
so I hope all the men out there
and the ones in your life had a
SUPER SPECIAL DAY!!

Today I am going to show you a banner I made for our Family's Father Day BBQ.
I made this last minute so I apologize for putting it up a day late,
{sometimes thats just how my life works!}
but hopefully you can use the idea next year if you would like!

Here is the Father's Day Banner:

I LOVE how this one came together!!
 It was easy to make as well!

Here's What You Will Need:
-Circut or other Cutting Machine
-3 Colors of Paper {I did Red, Yellow and Blue}
-Glue Stick
-Foam Tape, Glue Stick or Double sided tape {depending on the look you want}
-Jute or Ribbon to hang them on
-Scissors
-Packing Tape

Here's How I Made It:
First I cut out the super man solid symbol on my cricut. I cut them out on blue and yellow paper with the yellow measuring smaller so the blue would boarder it. I also cut out Super Dad with red paper.

Next, I glued the yellow and blue symbols together with the glue stick.

Then I cut a bunch of foam tape to put the letters on with. I wanted to give it the 3D look. I then stuck the letters on the symbols.

Next I laid out the finished letters and symbols so I could measure how long I needed the jute to be. When I figured that out, I taped the symbols onto the jute using packing tape.

Lastly, I tied the Dad onto the Super rope so It would hang below it and this way it was still one banner and not two.

There you have it!!! Super Easy and Super Fun Father's Day Banner!!

Here are a couple of pictures of our Father's Day BBQ:

{These are my Cute Kids!}

{Yummy Food}

{I brought Dad's Root Beer as a special way to honor our Daddy's}

Hope you all had a Wonderful Father's Day!!
