Faith Quote Decor & Free Printable

A few weeks ago I was having a very hard day about things that my hubby and I are trying to do in our lives right now. I came across a quote about Faith and it was something I totally needed to read at the time. I knew I needed this up in my home as a reminder to have faith every day in our lives.

Here is the quote:

How I Made It:

I took an old frame that I had on hand and spray painted it white. I put 4 coats on so it was bright white.

When that dried, I took some antiquing glaze that my amazing friend gave me and went over the frame and the inner boarder to help it pop.

As you can see its not perfect and I wanted it to be that way. It gives it some good character!

When that dried I put the quote in that I had designed:

I have this FREE for you to download! You can go HERE to do that!

I LOVE how it turned out!!

Inexpensive Monogram Decor

Today I have another simple project for you.
This is something I made for my gallery wall that I am putting together.
I love all the monogram decor that is in right now so I wanted to make something
with the first letter of our last name which is "S."

I had bought a frame at the dollar store that I wanted to use.

As you can see the frame is brown and I needed a black frame for this
so first I spray painted it black.

I took out the backing and the papers inside. I cut the paper that I wanted to use to the size it needed to be to fit the frame.

Next I cut an "S" out on black vinyl using my Cricut.

I stuck that on the blue flowered paper.

I put that back in the frame along with a mat that came with another frame and
now you have a super cute and easy monogram decor to hang up!

I love this piece and can't wait to put it up on the wall with my other decor!

Inspirational Sign

A little while ago I heard a saying that has stuck with me ever since. It is something I need to remember and something I want to teach my kids. I decided to make something for my daughter to put in her room so she can see this every day for the rest of her life. She can't read now, but I explained to her what it said and what it meant when I gave her this. Then when she can read she already knows!

Since I have kept you waiting long enough, here is what the saying is:

I want to teach her that, especially when she gets older, she doesn't need to try to be anyone else but herself, because SHE is the most beautiful person!

Today I am going to show you how I made this cute sign for her!!

How I Made It:

I had a frame on hand that I got at a local thrift store awhile back that I wanted to use for this.

First, I spray painted the frame pink. I took the back out of the frame and got to work. I put 3 coats of paint on.

In between working on the spray painting, I got on my computer to do the rest of this project.

I saw a cute project that Lindsey at Southern Lovely had done with some super cute paper. After reading through her post I found out she printed this paper for free off the interenet. I had to go check out this site. Let me tell you...it is AMAZING!! There are all sorts of different papers, patterns, and colors for you to choose from and all for FREE! You will have to go check it out. Link is below.

-I printed off the spritzed stencil chevron paper HERE at Mels Stampz
-The purple polka dot paper is scrapbook paper I had on hand
-I designed the beyoutiful tag in my photoshop on my computer. If you don't have that, I think picmonkey would work too.

I used a glue stick to glue all of those together.

When that was done, I put it in the frame and closed it up!
Super easy!

I love how the whole thing came together and I'm so excited to get it put up in her room!

Drab to Shab Thrifted Frame

A few months ago I went to our local thrift store to look around. I always have to check out there frames when I go. Usually I can find such good frames for so cheap. My new thing has been to spray paint these frames to fix them up. This is what I did for todays project.

Here is the frame I bought at the thrift store:

Beauty isn't she?!?
I picked this up for a whole .75 cents!
I actually really love the style of this frame. It gives that old vintage feel.
I just wasn't feeling the gold paint on it.

I am still working on getting everything done for my gallery wall so
I decided to use the frame for it.

The colors in our room are black, cream, light blue and yellow.
I decided to spray paint the frame yellow.

This project was so simple to do.
What I did was take the back out of the frame and got to work with the spray paint.
I put about 5 coats on it to make sure no gold showed through.

I was going to go through and antique the little decals on the frame, but if you look closely the paint kind of did that itself so I chose to just leave it the way it was.

After it dried. I printed a picture of my two little monkeys and put in in the frame.

Here it is all put together:

I Love what the Pop of Yellow Color did for this frame!
It goes perfect with the picture and even more perfect with our room!

I can't wait to get this gallery wall done and up!
I will post pictures when I do!

{Paint Chip Board} Easter Decor

I can't believe Easter is just a few weeks away!
I am feeling a little behind on getting crafts and decor done that I want to for the upcoming holiday. I had lots of flu sickness around my house for a few days, which put me behind a bit. Sorry I am just getting around to getting my Easter Decor up!

Little Story Before:
Awhile ago I was at Home Depot with the hubs looking around at things. We walked by the Paint Chip Boards and I decided to get a "few samples" to "try" out! {Which really means maybe I can use them for something in the future!}

I put them in the cupboard and forgot about them until I was looking through my things to see what I could use up to make my Easter Decor. I saw some cute Easter/Spring colors in the mix so I had to come up with something to make with them. I also found a frame I had bought at the dollar store awhile ago.

I decided to see if the paint chip board fit into the frame and it fit perfectly width wise, but was just a little short length wise. I knew I could fake it with something so I went ahead and got things ready.

What I Used:

-5"x7" Frame -bought from the Dollar Store
-Pink Shade Paint Chip Board
-Vinyl Cut Out
-Jute or Ribbon

How I Made It:

First I put the Chip Board in the Frame underneath the mat that came with the frame.
I decided that I liked the look of the color of the mat with it, so I used this as an extender of the paint chip board. I tried white, but it didn't look as cute.

Using my Circut I cut out the word Easter. I cut that out in light purple vinyl. Then I transferred that onto the glass of the frame.

Lastly, I tied a piece of jute around the frame for a little added embellishment.
Simple, but DIFFERENT and fun!!

I love how it turned out and I love how its a little different!

Framed {Felt Flower} Heart Decor

I normally don't post anything on Thursday's because of the link party going on, but I have something HUGE Happening next week since we have hit 400 followers on the blog
so I needed to get this posted today!!

*****************

I have been trying to figure out more Valentine's Decor this year that I could make. I don't have many decorations for Valentine's other then what I made last year and this year. I saw this Super cute framed heart on Pinterest and had to make one for myself!

Here is the Framed {Felt Flower} Heart Decor:

How I Made It:

This was very inexpensive to make.
I took a frame that I got at the dollar store and opened it up. I traced it onto some burlap and cut it down to fit in the frame. Then closed it back up.

Then I took red felt and made 17 rosette flowers. I used this tutorial HERE to make them. It is the last flower she explains how to do.

Then I laid them out on the frame trying to get the heart shape. I started by doing an outline of a heart and then filled in the middle.

Then I hot glued them onto the burlap.
That's it!!! So quick, easy, and cheap!!!

This is my last Valentine's decor that I am showing you this year. I can't believe Valentine's is just a couple weeks way and am amazed how quickly it has creeped up on us!
Happy Valentine's!

Vintage Snowflake Decor

Here in Utah we have a full on winter season with lots of snow.
I have always thought of January as the "Snow Themed" month for my house.
I always decorate with snowmen. Probably because its such a
gloomy time and snowmen bring cheer and smiles to me.
They are just so stinkin cute!!!

The next little bit on the blog I am going to have Snow Themed decor that I am making to put up in my home during January!

Today I have a cute and simple decor that I found on Pinterest. I fell in love with them the minute I saw them.

Here is what I am calling
 Vintage Snowflake Decor:

Over at A Place 2 Call Home she did this with a few frames all together. Some had lots of snowflakes and some just a couple. For mine I just kept them simple.

What I Used:
-2  5"x7" Ikea Frames {my new favorite frames!}
-An OLD OLD Book with yellowed pages
-Exacto Knife {optional}
-Paper Cutter if needed {I didn't need one with mine}
-Silver or white snowflakes

What I Did:
My hubby got a book when he was in elementary. It is so worn and falling apart he let me use it for the project and anything else I want to! Wahoo!! I know some of you may not agree with doing this, but it just gives this decor such an old vintage look. I love it.

First, I used and exacto knife to cut 2 pages out of the book for the frames.

Next, I opened up the frames and put a silver snowflake in the corners I wanted them in. I left the mats in that came with the frame. Then I set the book page in place and put the back on.

That's it!! Super easy, quick and
 GORGEOUS!!!

Thanks again to A Place 2 Call Home for the an amazing idea!
