Framed {Felt Flower} Heart Decor

I normally don't post anything on Thursday's because of the link party going on, but I have something HUGE Happening next week since we have hit 400 followers on the blog
so I needed to get this posted today!!

*****************

I have been trying to figure out more Valentine's Decor this year that I could make. I don't have many decorations for Valentine's other then what I made last year and this year. I saw this Super cute framed heart on Pinterest and had to make one for myself!

Here is the Framed {Felt Flower} Heart Decor:

How I Made It:

This was very inexpensive to make.
I took a frame that I got at the dollar store and opened it up. I traced it onto some burlap and cut it down to fit in the frame. Then closed it back up.

Then I took red felt and made 17 rosette flowers. I used this tutorial HERE to make them. It is the last flower she explains how to do.

Then I laid them out on the frame trying to get the heart shape. I started by doing an outline of a heart and then filled in the middle.

Then I hot glued them onto the burlap.
That's it!!! So quick, easy, and cheap!!!

This is my last Valentine's decor that I am showing you this year. I can't believe Valentine's is just a couple weeks way and am amazed how quickly it has creeped up on us!
Happy Valentine's!

DIY Valentine Candy Dishes

This year I decided I needed some cute candy dishes to put
all the yummy Valentine's candy in.
I was at Michael's one night and came across these super cute
Valentine bowls and I knew I had to get them.

These are a lot like the ones I used for my cupcake stand I made
last summer, which you can see HERE

I could have just left them the way they were, but that's no fun so I had to fancy them up a bit!

I had some candle sticks from the Dollar Store on hand. I got those and spray painted them red.
To see how to spray paint glass you can go see my tutorial HERE.

When those fully dried, I glued them to the bowls with E-6000 glue.

When I put them up on the candle sticks I decided it needed another bowl type thing next to it. I knew the perfect thing. I pulled out my Valentine's box and found my cute little heart silver bowl I have had since I got married.

Perfect!!!
Now for filling them with goodies...

I am so happy how they turned out! Although, I have been in a little trouble with them because my kiddos keep sneaking candy. I might I have put them up higher!!!

Happy Valentine's!!

"Soda" want to be my Valentine?? {School Treats}

Last week I got on Pinterest with my cute little 4 year old to go through
ideas of what we could do for her school Valentine's this year in preschool.
It was a hard decision for her, but she finally found one she really liked
using SODA POP!!

Here is her
SODA VALENTINE'S TREATS:

What you will need:
-1 pack Fanta {or more depending on the size of the class}. You can choose the flavor you want. I chose red because it matched my labels.
-1 6 pack Crush glass bottled soda {Again you can choose what flavor you want. I liked how this matched as well.
- Lables
-Scissors
-Double Sided Tape or Glue
- Ribbon

Friends School Treat:
The tags we found on Pinterest had one that said, "I'm your biggest fan!"
I knew this would go cute on Fanta Pop.
Since I am getting into making my own Printables and such I wanted to create my own tag for these that matched everything. I went on my photoshop and scrapbook shop and made the cute round label.

I printed them out putting 9 on a sheet. I then cut them out and
used a whole punch in the top.
Then I took curling ribbon and tied the label to the can and curled it.

They were super easy and cheap to make, which is always nice!!

And of course, I couldn't show you these and not give you the label!! Here it is:
You can download the label for FREE Here.
*Make sure you read the printable disclaimer below*

Teachers Treat:
When my little girl picked what she wanted to do, I wanted to match what we did for her classmates for her teacher. I came up with the saying, "I think you're more than SODA an amazing teacher."
I thought it fit everything perfectly!
I did the same thing for this as the one above. I went on photoshop and scrapbook shop and made the cute label.

I printed that off on cardstock. When I printed it I have the option to scale it down and so I put it at 50%. This worked well when I put it on the box. I taped it on using double sided tape and then added a few different ribbons around the handle of the box. I just tied those on.

I love the way this one turned out! Better then I thought!!

And here is the printable for this one:

Countdown to Valentines

As I got to thinking what I wanted to make for Valentine's this year I remembered my
Countdown that I made for Christmas and thought it would be fun to do a
Countdown to Valentines. It is something my kiddos would really enjoy doing too.
So I went on Pinterest to see if anyone else had done
something like this and to get ideas.
I really liked the one I saw HERE at Infarrantly Creative so I made something similar to it.

Here is my Countdown To Kisses:

How I Made It:

I contemplated for awhile on how I wanted to make this. I had several ideas running
through my head. Even on the way to the craft store to get supplies I really
didn't know what I was going to do. As I was talking with my hubby on the way there I
had huge thought come to me. I was at Joann's a few weeks ago and went
down an isle just to check it out. I came upon the cutest magnet boards.
I fell in love with them the minute I saw them, but didn't know what I would use it for.
This thought made everything clear. I would use that magnet board! Funny how things work out!

I chose the color red because of course its a Valentines color!
Isn't it so cute?!?

After I got the magnet board I went over the Michael's and picked up some cute black and white bottle caps. I got 14 of them. These are for the numbers to go on. I also grabbed 14 round magnets that I had on hand at home.

Next, I got on my Circut and designed how I wanted the wording to be. When I got that figured out I cut out the words "Countdown to Kisses" with some hearts in white vinyl. Then I designed the numbers to fit the bottle caps. I cut those out in red vinyl.

Then I took the Countdown wording and transferred that to the magnet board.

Next, I hot glued the magnets to the bottle caps. I could have skipped this step because after all the bottle caps are magnetic so the magnets would stick on there own, but lets be honest the kids are going to be doing this so I don't want them to play with them!

Lastly, I transferred the red numbers to all the bottle caps and stuck those to the board.

This was a super easy and quick project, but it turned out
better then I pictured to begin with!!

I can't wait until Friday to start counting down the days until Valentines!!

Valentine's Ruffle Wreath

Last year for Valentine's I made a super cute Ribbon Wreath,
which you can see HERE. I wanted to make another wreath this
year for Valentine's and I really wanted to make a ruffle wreath,
like the 4th of July one I did HERE
I feel like I am becoming obsessed with wreaths and I am not sure why. HAHA!!

I got the supplies I needed to make the ruffle wreath I wanted. I had a round styrofoam wreath, but as I was in line to check out I found that someone had laid a heart styrofoam wreath in an odd spot, like they didn't want it, so I snatched it up. Its so perfect for what I wanted to do!

Here is my Valentine's Heart Ruffle Wreath:

What you will need:
-Styrofoam Wreath
-1 yard felt fabric
{I used about 3/4 a yard for the heart. If your doing a round wreath I would say you need
1 yard. May be a little more. I did mine a solid dark pink color}
-2 cases of pins
-A cup or something to trace circles with
-Pen
-Scissors

How I Made It:

First, I laid my felt out and traced what felt like 500 circles. Ok, not really, but a lot!

Then I cut them all out.

Next, I got comfy on the couch and turned on the Bachelor and pinned them to the wreath.

This is the technique I used when I pinned them in:

After I ran out of circles, I traced and cut more circles until it was complete. This took me a couple of hours to do-which also included breaks to give my hands a rest!

I pinned those on the top and sides, but not the back. Of course no one sees the back and this way it will lay flat.

When I got done covering the wreath, I got some silver sparkly ribbon and pinned that to the back of the wreath so I would be able to hang it up!

It turned out just the way I wanted it to be and am so excited to hang it up for the "Love Month!!"

What do you think of the heart ruffle wreath??

School Valentine's Treats

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend. I sure did!! On Friday evening my cute hubby said he was going to run some errands and for me not to eat dinner. A few hours later he came home with a stake dinner from Applebee's, a couple of new movies (Real Steel and Kunfu Panda 2), 3D glasses for our new 3D TV we just bought, popcorn and a HUGE box of chocolates for me!! He told me that we were celebrating Valentine's that night. I knew that we were going to be able to celebrate on Valentine's because he has school and works graveyards and has to work that night. He totally surprised me!!! He is the BEST husband in the world. I love you honey!!
Here a couple of pictures from that night.
I decided to take a picture of dinner when we were almost done! There was stake with mushroom and onions, loaded mashed potatoes and streamed vegetables.

Here is the box of chocolates!! I decided to measure the box. It was 20"x19 1/2". Definitely HUGE!!!

Enough about my weekend. Let's get to todays School Valentine's Treats....

If you are in need of a last minute treat for your kids to take for Valentine's Parties at school tomorrow I have a cute one for you. I have been looking for the past few weeks on Pinterest for some cute ideas to do for my little Kaitlyn's preschool class. I finally decided on one that uses starbursts.

All you need is:
-Bags of starbursts (I needed 2 bags. She has 11 classmates and her teacher.)
-Jewelry size baggies
-Stapler
-Labels

I put 12 starbursts into each baggie.

Next I made my own label with the saying,"I'm Bursting with Happiness that you are my Friend." Then I stapled them to the top of each baggie.

We also did one for her teacher and put, "I am Bursting with Happiness that you are my Teacher."

Super easy right?!? But they turned out so cute!! Kaitlyn is so excited to take them to school tomorrow!
