Today we have a Guest Post from Liz at

Happy Blog Birthday Jill! In celebration of Jill's birthday bash, I'm going to show you all how to make simple and adorable decorations that are perfect for a birthday party, baby shower, or wedding.

Tissue Paper Poms

Photobucket

The best part about these is that you probably already have everything you need to make them!

Photobucket

Here's what you need:
Tissue paper
Vinyl coated wire or twisty ties
Scissors

Photobucket

Layer 8-12 sheets of tissue paper and begin folding it like a fan.

Photobucket

Then fold the tissue paper in half and tie the wire around it.

Photobucket

Then cut the folds in the center.

Photobucket

You'll end up with four sections of fold. At this point take each section and start separating the layers.

Photobucket

After they are all separated, gently pull the layers in different directions and fluff them. You can fluff them all around so you end up with a round pom, or leave a flat side to hang on a chair or use as a table centerpiece. I left mine flat on one side.

I'm actually making these for a friend's wedding, so I don't have any pictures of them really in use, but I hope you get the idea.

Thanks so much for having me Jill! Happy Blog Birthday!

**Those are so fun!!! What a cute and inexpensive way to add decor to any kind of party! They look so easy to make too. Thank you so much Liz for sharing this awesome tutorial with us today!

  4. I know my comment is late but loved your idea so making these large tissue flowers for chair backs in a hall where decorating is limited. I am not having good luck coming up with a plan to attach these to the chairs without "flop" . ribbons aren't supporting and wire- need at least 26 inches per chair is expensive. Need some ideas. Thanx in advance. Mary D
